Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 28, 2026
1. Introduction
AMLabs Studio ("we", "us", or "our") operates the PassportSnap mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use our App. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
The short version: PassportSnap processes all photos entirely on your device. Your photos are never uploaded to our servers. We do not collect, store, or share your passport photos.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the core features of PassportSnap.
2.2 Photos and Camera Data
PassportSnap requests access to your camera and photo library solely to enable passport photo capture and processing. All image processing occurs entirely on your device. No photos, thumbnails, or image data are transmitted to our servers or any third-party server.
2.3 Usage Analytics (Optional)
We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (such as feature usage frequency and crash reports) to improve the App. This data cannot be used to identify you and is collected only if permitted by your device settings. We use industry-standard analytics tools that comply with GDPR and CCPA requirements.
2.4 Advertising (AdMob)
The free version of PassportSnap displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers and usage information to serve relevant ads in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
2.5 Purchase Data
If you purchase PassportSnap Pro, payment is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not receive or store your payment card information.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and improve the App's core features
- Analyze anonymous usage patterns to enhance user experience
- Display non-personalized or personalized advertisements (free version)
- Process in-app purchases
- Diagnose and fix technical issues via crash reports
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share anonymous, aggregated data with:
- Google AdMob — for ad delivery (free version only)
- Apple / Google — for payment processing (Pro purchases)
- Analytics providers — anonymous crash reports and usage metrics
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Data Retention
Since we do not collect or store your photos or personal identifiable information on our servers, there is no data retention concern for your photos. Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 24 months and then deleted.
6. Children's Privacy
PassportSnap is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Opt out of data collection for analytics or advertising
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
To exercise these rights or for any privacy-related questions, contact us at privacy@passportsnap.app.
8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect information. Since photo processing is on-device, your photos are protected by your device's built-in security (screen lock, encryption). We use industry-standard encryption for any data transmitted to or from our services.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through in-app notifications. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
